From the Diary of Agent Hamlet
I [Carl Fox] had been on assignment in the South of France when I got a call from the man with a very short life expectancy, Mr J, asking me to return to Cheltenham at the earliest opportunity. I did have a pressing engagement with a very attractive representative from the Swedish Embassy but England must come first and having said my au revoirs to Kira I returned to Cheltenham.
On my return I was pleased to find my vehicle had been upgraded to a car more in keeping with my position and I raced up to Cheltenham. Mr J had unfortunately for him put out the call for help on the day of the National and I had to check on the progress of my horse and to make sure my investment was successful before keeping my appointment; after all it was only Mr. J.
When I arrived at the Queens I had missed two very attractive TV celebrities only to find that Mr. J was there along with my old friends Alex and the very quiet Mr. Jones.
They were accompanied I was pleased to see not by those bloody micks from my first mission with C23 but two new team members
J brought us up to date with the going’s on at the research institute and wanted us to investigate a sighting of an alleged UFO up in the hills around Chelt and the disappearance of Alex West. We set of in one of the pool vehicles, as the old Aston didn’t have enough room to get a fully armed party up to the scene.
After a careful examination of the scene we found what we believed to a be evidence of a UFO landing and were in the process of leaving to take it for analysis when we were confronted by three MIB’s. They seemed to be trying to warn us of but were obviously unaware who they were dealing with and I faced them off while the rest of my colleagues hid
My recollection of the exact course of events is rather hazy after having performed numerous missions since but I seem to recall going to a local public house to try and stop the TV celebrities from acquiring a tape proving the existence of the UFO’s. I got the chance to charm them both while one of my colleagues stole the video from them.
After having retrieved the tape and avoided a further confrontation with the MIB’s we were requested by Mr J to investigate down by the disused railway as the famed scientist Alex West (whose disappearance we were investigating) car had been sighted there.
However there again the MIB’s were waiting, I believe that J and them were working together. We managed to avoid a shooting war in the middle of Chelt and made our way to the asylum where Suzie Nichols was now a patient, she was a once girlfriend of Alex West. In between her ramblings she kept mentioning that the stars were right and travel to the stars. Perplexed by this rather than in any way helping we set of for the Gillman Institute again at the bequest of the highly irritating J. There we were told about a secret moon base. From an earlier mission I knew of it’s existence and I asked for us to travel there via a gate in the stars to resolve difficulties they were having with the MIB’s which turned out to be mythos monsters.
We were equipped with what we were assured as being the most advanced space suits and communication devices before being transported through the gate to the moon.
The trip did not unduly concern me but I cannot say the same for the rest of the team. Once on the moon we were asked to repair a beacon so that we could be picked up by the moon buggies but before we had done so we were attacked by what I believe are Migo which destroyed our gate and the only means by which we could leave the moonbase.
Raffles and I set about repairing the beacon and we were soon at the base. The situation there was no better as the Migos had attacked destroying the reactor, which would soon turn the base into a radioactive puddle. What we did find though was West’s brain as the Migos had removed it from his body though it still appeared to be functioning.
We attempted to communicate with it in an attempt to build a further gate to facilitate our escape. Jones and I left the others along with the very famous Michael Phiness (who had his very useful two man hiking tent with him) to communicate with the remains of West, whilst we fought off two Migos that were trying to infiltrate the base.
Jones showed much bravery in the fight and quite a bit of ingenuity for someone with his limited training in assisting me to despatch the two beasts.
Time was however running out for the base and with no way of escaping we looked doomed. However one of our old enemies Lux appeared in the base offering us an alternative gate home all we had to do was utter a few words. We did not trust him at all but were left with little in the way of options as our attempts to construct our own gate had ended in failure and as a last resort we agreed to go through.
We did not see J again but apparently he was pleased with our work, if only I could prove he was a double agent…
Well I’ve been on leave since then with the Australian Ladies beach volleyball team which has been an eye opening experience only to recently get another distressed call from J asking me to rendezvous next Saturday. Doesn’t he know it’s the England versus Germany match!
